The single most important decision you will make for your wedding photographs has nothing to do with cameras, lenses or even your photographer. It is the time of day you choose to do things.
Chase the golden hour
The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset produce soft, directional, golden light that flatters every skin tone and adds a cinematic glow to your images. Whenever possible, I build the couple's portrait session around this window.
Build in margin
Weddings run late — it is a law of nature. I always recommend padding your timeline with fifteen-minute buffers so that a delayed hair-and-makeup session never costs you your portraits.
Plan well, and the light will do half of my work for me.
